Four creators on Earth got flown into the studio where GTA 6 is made. None of them was American. One of them was one of ours. This is the Davy Jones file, and yes, I am biased, and no, I am not sorry.

Full disclosure before anything else, because The Scene keeps its books clean: I am Brazilian. I was born in Recife, I grew up on Brazilian YouTube, and the creator this profile is about comes from the same corner of the internet I did. So when I tell you that the single most important access story of the entire GTA 6 cycle happened to a Brazilian, understand that I checked the facts twice as hard precisely because I wanted it to be true. It is true. Here is the file.
Who Davy Jones Is
For the readers meeting him here first: Davy Jones is a Brazilian games creator, the face of the GameplayRJ channel on YouTube and a regular presence around Flow, the podcast network whose gaming arm, Flow Games, has become one of the biggest games stages in Brazil (all per Portal Viciados and VZone coverage of his work). He belongs to the generation of Brazilian creators who built enormous audiences doing the simple, unglamorous thing: playing games, talking about games, every day, in Portuguese, for years, while the international industry mostly pretended the country was a sales chart and not a culture.
That last part matters for what comes next. During the entire GTA 5 era, by Davy Jones’s own account on the Flow podcast (REPORTED via VZone, September 9, 2026), Rockstar had practically no communication with the Brazilian press and community. Brazil bought the games, filled the servers, and made the memes, and got silence in return. Keep that in your pocket. It makes the rest of this story land properly.
The Trip: Four Creators, Four Countries, Zero Americans
In July 2026, Rockstar did something the company had never done in this franchise’s history. It flew four content creators to Rockstar North in Edinburgh, Scotland, the studio where GTA is actually developed, for a closed presentation of GTA 6, months before that material reached the public. The guest list, reported by VZone and reconstructed in detail by GTA BOOM: Davy Jones from Brazil, TGG from Australia, El Rubius from Spain, and MikeShowSha from Italy.
Read that list again. Four creators, four countries, four languages, and not one American, in the largest games market on the planet. Davy Jones himself flagged it as the detail that broke his brain, and honestly, same. VZone’s account of his Flow podcast appearance adds the texture that tells you how sealed this thing was: the visit stayed secret for almost two months, becoming public only on the eve of the public material in late August, and GTA BOOM’s reconstruction describes a closed door presentation with devices left at the entrance. Traditional outlets were handled separately: VZone notes that IGN, for example, received its own presentation in a different format. The creators were not the press pool. They were a category of their own, treated as one, inside the building where the game is made.
His summary of the experience, as VZone tells it, was that nobody even knew it was possible, because nobody had ever done it. Uncharted waters was his phrase for it. A fair one. There was no etiquette for this visit because there had never been a visit like it.
What He Actually Said When the Embargo Let Him Talk
Here is where The Scene discipline kicks in, because a profile like this has to separate the romance from the record. Davy Jones signed an NDA, and by every public account he honored it to the letter. The contents of the closed presentation are described in public only as far as the reporting goes, and this profile will not invent a single frame beyond that. What he did do, once the embargo allowed it, is talk. A lot, and usefully. Three things from his public accounts belong in this file.
First, the context bomb. On the Flow podcast, sitting next to Igor 3K, he described how Rockstar’s posture toward Brazil had flipped in this cycle: the company hired a lead responsible for Brazil, ran its first Twitch Drops in the country, and started sending kits to local creators (REPORTED via VZone, September 9, 2026). His own verdict on the old days was blunt, to paraphrase: they never needed any of this, Rockstar never needed anything, which is exactly why the new effort means something. Companies that need nothing do not hire country leads for fun.
Second, the question he carried into the building. Per VZone, he put the GTA Online question directly to the developers in Edinburgh and came back with an answer that cuts through two years of speculation: the team told him the focus is on making a single player game, and his summary of the current state of online was that, as of now, there is no online. That is his account of a conversation, REPORTED and attributed, and it sits in our confirmed vs rumor tracker labeled exactly that way. But notice the shape of it: a Brazilian creator walked into Rockstar North carrying the question his audience actually asks, and walked out with the clearest answer anybody has published.
Third, the performance answer. In August 2026, Portal Viciados reported Davy Jones recounting a conversation with Rob Nelson, co-head of Rockstar North, in which Nelson told him GTA 6 runs at 30 frames per second on all consoles, PS5 Pro included, and said he would need to check with the technical team on whether a 60 fps mode would exist at launch or arrive later. That is REPORTED, secondhand through Davy’s account, not a Rockstar spec sheet, and Portal Viciados itself framed it that way again in its October PS5 Pro coverage. It is still, months later, one of the most concrete performance data points anyone has dragged out of that building, and it came out of a Brazilian creator’s interview. His Flow Games work from the trip also produced a long interview with Nelson covering the game’s systems, which Flow Games published as an exclusive (REPORTED via Flow Games). The access turned into reporting. That is the whole job, done properly.
The Kit: Rockstar Sends the Good Box to Brazil Now
The Edinburgh trip was the headline, but the pattern is bigger than one trip. Portal Viciados reported that Rockstar sent official GTA 6 gift kits to a roster of Brazilian creators in the run up to launch: SanInPlay, BRKsEDU, Davy Jones, Alanzoka and Zero, among others. And because this site appreciates a good inventory list, the kit, as Portal Viciados catalogued it from SanInPlay’s unboxing: a black box carrying the classic Rockstar logo, a white Vice City shirt with a sunglasses wearing crocodile holding a drink, a black Rockstar cap with the logo embroidered in pink, a pink bag, an official money clip stamped with the VI logo, plus stickers and themed cards.
Also on the record, so nobody calls it a launch window stunt: there was an earlier round of kits in December 2025, sent to Brazilian creators including SanInPlay, tied to a GTA Online expansion (REPORTED via Portal Viciados). Davy Jones has since shown newer Rockstar gifts on the Flow Games stage in October 2026, per the Flow panel coverage, because apparently the boxes just keep coming. The point is not the merchandise. The point is the mailing list. For a full console generation, Brazil was the audience Rockstar could take for granted. Now Brazil is on the list, by name, in pink embroidery.
The Track Record Question, Asked Honestly
Every profile in The Scene ends up at the scoreboard, so let us ask the scoreboard question about Davy Jones properly: what is his track record?
It is the wrong question, and the reason why is the most interesting thing about him. NateTheHate predicts. Tom Henderson reports. Davy Jones does neither, at least not in the leak sense. He has never built a brand on anonymous sources or embargo gambling. His asset is different: access, earned in public, over years, and then protected with almost absurd discipline. The man sat on the biggest secret of his career for nearly two months, in the loudest media ecosystem on Earth, in a country where GTA news travels at the speed of WhatsApp, and nothing leaked. Not a frame, not a hint, not a wink on a livestream. When Rockstar’s trust department grades that experiment, his file is the one with the gold star, and everybody in the Brazilian scene knows what that grade buys next cycle.
The honest asterisk, because this section always has one: access journalism has a price, and the price is that you cannot bite the hand mid cycle. Davy Jones’s accounts of the trip are glowing, and some of that glow is the NDA talking. His job was to witness, not to interrogate, and a reader should weigh his Edinburgh material the way you weigh any hosted visit: priceless on access and detail, gentler on criticism than an independent report would be. He also cannot confirm or deny half of what his audience asks him, possibly forever. That is the deal he signed, and to his credit, he has never pretended otherwise in public.
My take: I have covered a lot of names in this section, and I will be honest about the hierarchy in my chest. Schreier is the best journalist in the business. Henderson built the smartest machine. Nate has the cleanest receipts. But Davy Jones is the only one whose story is also my story. A creator from Brazilian YouTube, the place the industry treated as a translation market for a decade, walked through the front door of Rockstar North as one of four people on Earth, while American creators watched it happen on social media like the rest of us. If you are not Brazilian, you cannot fully feel what that guest list meant here. It meant the river changed direction. The next time Rockstar opens that door, there will be a line of Brazilian creators outside it who grew up watching Davy Jones, and at least one sarcastic site editor in Maryland keeping score on all of them, with an unreasonable amount of pride and a completely reasonable amount of sarcasm.
Your Turn
That is the Davy Jones file: the visit, the podcast accounts, the interviews, the kit, and the discipline. He was the Brazilian entry in the Scene debut, and his profile officially opens this section’s Brazilian wing, which will get the same receipts-first treatment as everybody else, plus a little extra love I will not apologize for.
So, Brazil first, since this one is ours: did the Edinburgh trip change how you see Davy Jones, and who is the next Brazilian creator Rockstar should be flying out? Everyone else: be honest, did you know a Brazilian was in that room before this article? Comments are open. The Scene reads everything, in both languages.
